Work group talks Lawrence Loop at school event

Members of the Healthy Built Environment Work Group shared information about the Lawrence Loop Jan. 17 at the New York Elementary School Martin Luther King Jr. chili feed. When complete, the Loop will provide a continuous 22-mile trail around the city limits.

The HBE group received feedback on local transportation concerns and gathered community input about creating a city trail system that will serve everyone, regardless of income level or physical abilities. Of the residents the group spoke to, about 90 percent said they knew about the Loop. Many had questions about when the Loop would be complete, and several expressed concerns about how to safely access the Loop.

The work group plans to do additional public outreach about the Loop in the future. To stay up to date about the Loop, follow lawrenceloopr on Instagram and Twitter.
