NuStep added to LDCHA

The Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority recently added a NuStep recumbent cross trainer machine to Babcock Place, thanks to a LiveWell Community Wellness Grant through the Douglas County Community Foundation.

The NuStep was delivered in February, and Lawrence Memorial Hospital Therapy Services provided a workshop about how to use the machine.

“The machine has seen so much use since the workshop,” said Haleigh Koca, senior housing services coordinator at LDCHA. “It is available for use in our game/fitness room 24 hours a day, which allows for use for those who may have busy schedules during the day. Many residents have also developed ‘accountability partners’ who go to work out with each other in small intervals while also providing support.”
