October is National Walking Month and an ideal time to get outdoors and walk!

Lawrence Memorial Hospital is offering WALK-tober, a free walking program to complete in October on your own or with your own group. Participants also receive health and wellness tips and healthy recipes. Sign up by visiting lmh.org, emailing aynsley.anderson@lmh.org or calling 785-505-3066.

Attendance at an orientation session is recommended — but not required — for those who have not participated previously. Orientation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, or noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at LMH Conference Room D South, 325 Maine St.

Optional Walk the Lawrence Loop group walks will be offered six times during the month. It is not necessary to enroll in WALK-tober to participate in the Loop walks. For more info about the Loop walks, click here.
